Data on use of force incidents were provided by the Watertown Police Department. However, racial disparities in use of force could not be reliably assessed because there were fewer than 40 incidents recorded overall during the assessment period. This is below CPE’s minimum sample size requirements for conducting complex statistical analyses of racial disparities, a data threshold we maintain to avoid drawing broad conclusions about racial equity based on a handful of incidents.
